Supporting a Company’s Deep Green Vision

Washington REIT approached New Partners to help advance their green building program by adding solar to the many other sustainability features already in their large real estate portfolio. As with many multi-story commercial office buildings, the limited economic benefit made adding solar hard to underwrite. But by donating its rooftop to New Partners, WashREIT was able to both benefit the community and foster its comprehensive sustainability mission. The system includes arrays on both the building’s utility penthouse and lower roof and a substantial vertical wall system.

Location: Farragut Square/Foggy Bottom, NW
System Size: 80.07 kW
Building Owner: Washington REIT
Additional Partners: DC Dept. of Energy and Environment, USBancorp CDC, United Bank, SolarGaines

Supporting a Company’s Deep Green Vision

We see demand both from tenants who want to be in sustainable spaces and from investors who are seeking to understand the sustainability performance of the funds and REITs they’re investing in.
